PAUL Peschisolido declared himself delighted to have his side paired with Sheffield United in the first round of the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy.
The former Blades favourite is manager of League Two Burton Albion and United’s first entrance in this competition will see them break new ground when they go to the Pirelli Stadium for the first time. “It’s an excellent draw for us,” said Peschisolido, who scored 17 goals in 79 appearances for the club.
Sheffield Wednesday also travel to League Two opposition having been drawn to meet Peter Jackson’s Bradford City.
Both ties are likely to be played on Tuesday, August 30. Chesterfield and Rotherham United received byes into the second round.
The Northern Section is split into East and West and the other two ties, in addition to the city clubs, in the East Section see Scunthorpe at home to Hartlepool whilst Huddersfield Town travel to Northampton.
