If the play-offs have half the excitement generated in Rotherham United’s last two matches then we are in for some finale.

Normally, a 1-0 home win over Port Vale might not be an occasion to get out the bunting but it was the very nature of the win and the thrilling second half performance which took everyone up a notch at the New York Stadium on Easter Monday.
When Richie Smallwood got his marching orders (perhaps a shade unluckily) right on half-time, it seemed that Vale might be on course to extend their current reputation as a ‘bogey’ side for the Millers. After all, they had won the previous six meetings.
