Millers ready to bridge the class divide

Have your say

ROTHERHAM United manager Andy Scott says his squad will be ready for the step up in class when they face Sheffield Wednesday at Don Valley Stadium tonight (7.45pm).

“My plan for the whole of pre-season was done right at the end of last season so that everything was planned, it wasn’t just happening to fall into place,” said Scott.

“I was looking for a game like this one second up. It’s right that it should be a step up and it is.”

The Millers opened with a 3-1 win at Grimsby and all eight of their new signings figured, five of them starting.

Scott has everyone available apart from youngster Ollie Banks. Midfielder Jason Taylor is okay after three stitches in a cut eye.

Scott said of the Grimsby clash: “We got everyone some time on the pitch. We played some good stuff but there were a few areas I wasn’t happy about.”

There is no pay at the gate tonight.
