Haris Vuckic bagged his first goal in Rotherham United colours to seal the Millers sixth successive victory over Bradford City.
The striker, a one-time Bradford City transfer target, delicately lobbed Jon McLaughlin after latching on to Kieran Agard’s pass in the 21st minute.
Victory means Rotherham remain in sixth position, five points above seventh-placed Swindon Town.
Millers chief Steve Evans made one enforced change to his starting line-up for the Boxing Day clash. With striker Nouha Dicko having been recalled by parent club Wigan Athletic earlier this week, Evans handed a start to Alex Revell.
It took a fine stop from Adam Collin just after the half hour mark to keep out Garry Thompson’s effort after good play by Ollie McBurnie.
The visitors nearly extended their lead four minutes after the re-start but McLaughlin brilliantly kept out James Tavernier’s free-kick.
Nahki Wells, one of the hottest properties outside the Premier League, fired a shot straight at Collin as Bradford kept pressing for an equaliser.
Moments later, Tavernier found space at the back post only to blaze over when well-placed. The full-back was again thwarted by McLaughlin in the 65th minute and then Lee Frecklington flashed a shot narrowly wide.
