Millers aim for ‘cauldron’ atmosphere

Have your say

ROTHERHAM United want their new stadium to be a football “cauldron” and have asked designers to factor that in to the design.

Chairman Tony Stewart and the directors want to try to ensure the ground will have a real atmosphere and it is understood to have been part of their brief to those pitching for the design contract.

Further meetings took place yesterday with the club set to cut the shortlist of architects/contractors down to two.

Then they will make their final decision and select the winning bid for the 12,000 capacity, £20 million stadium which they want up by august 2012.

They are believed to have looked at the prospect of steeper sides and lower roofing.
