ROTHERHAM United’s players have set a standard with their 6-0 win at Lincoln City on Friday.
That’s the view of caretaker manager Andy Liddell as he looks ahead to tomorrow’s clash with fellow promotion rivals Shrewsbury Town at Don Valley Stadium.
“We’ve got eight games and if they don’t play like that and put in that work rate then I’ll want to know why because I’ve just watched them do it at Lincoln,” he said.
“The players really put a shift in and you saw players playing with passion and confidence. If you work as hard as that then me and Paul [Warne] will take making mistakes, doing silly things at certain times. We won’t take a lack of work rate or a lack of commitment.
“Had we lost at Lincoln playing as we did then I wouldn’t have grumbled in view of what I saw. They have set the standard.”
Rotherham slipped out of the Play-off zone to eighth.
