Ideal build-up says Scott

ROTHERHAM United’s tough outing at Macclesfield on Monday was the ideal preparation for their trip to League Two surprise package Cheltenham on Friday.

That’s the view of Millers manager Andy Scott as his side prepare for the trip to face second-placed Cheltenham, who are just three points off leaders Crawley Town.

“Macclesfield is a tough place to go,” said Scott. “They’ve conceded only seven at home. They make it difficult for you and you are forced to defend strongly against set-pieces whilst the conditions themselves, with the wind, were difficult.

“It confirms how hard it can be at this level and that any point away is a good one but it will all help us and we will be prepared for another difficult one on Friday, we’ll be under no illusions.

“We got in good areas but lacked a little bit of quality and also needed to attack the box better. We did some things well but not often enough so can we do the good things more often on Friday?”
