ROTHERHAM United manager Andy Scott says he won’t ‘give up’ on top scorer Adam Le Fondre and aims to make him a better player.

“I told him what I wanted and expected and I’m delighted by the fact he showed he can do it and it was certainly there for all to see,” he said reflecting on Le Fondre’s two goal, man-of-the-match performance at Aldershot at the weekend.

“I’ll get him fitter and make him a better player, show him better runs, make us a better team to be able to get him on the ball.

“He’s a goalscorer and you can’t give up on goalscorers.”

Rotherham’s final game on Saturday is at home to Torquay for whom a win would secure a play-off place although they can also qualify if they draw or even lose depending on the results of Stevenage and Gillingham.
