THERE was a boost for Rotherham United’s new caretaker management team when defender Nick Fenton reported in for training.

The experienced central defender had been suffering from a thigh strain and sat out the friendly on Tuesday at Chesterfield as a precaution.

But he was back in action yesterday in the bid to make himself available for the trip to Lincoln City tomorrow, the first game for caretaker manager Andy Liddell and coaching colleagues Paul Warne, Andy Dibble and the newest addition Nicky Eaden, a former teammate of Liddell at Barnsley and Wigan.

Meanwhile, former Millers stars Rob Scott and Paul Hurst are the new management team at Blue Square Premier club Grimsby Town.

They take their first training session today having left Boston United who they took to promotion last season to the Blue Square North where they are lying second. They previously took Ilkeston to promotion.
