You would be hard pressed to find any Rotherham United fan who would swap the side which turned out at Shrewsbury last Saturday for the one which ran out on that same ground for Steve Evans’ first game as Millers manager back in April 2012.
Yes, there were some good players and some fans’ favourites but the progress made is clearly evident.
Evans is not one to let grass grow under his feet. There has been a huge turnover of players with some excellent signings and a few rubbish ones but what is not in dispute is the improvement in personnel.
Just three players survive from his first game in charge - a game which began with a Millers goal in the opening couple of minutes but ended in a 3-1 defeat.
