SOME Rotherham United players will learn their fate today as manager Andy Scott begins the sorting out process.
The Millers boss, who has 10 players out of contract, has meetings lined up with the first of them today. “Some will know what they are going to be doing, they’ll know if they’re signing or not,” said Scott. “Some might expect contracts, some might not. All those out of contract and who are made offers... well, it’s up to them whether they sign. If they don’t then there are obviously compensation issues.”
There is speculation that both Ryan Taylor and Nicky Law could be lured elsewhere but as both are under 24 then, should it happen, compensation would be payable to Rotherham. Scott, for whom the 3-1 win over Torquay was his first as Rotherham manager, said: “I hope it’s the first of many wins while I’m here,” he said. “I’m glad the fans have got one after the recent results at home. We deserved it too against a good side.”
