THE chase for Rotherham United striker Adam Le Fondre looks to be hotting up.
Sheffield Wednesday, having had three bids rejected, are expected to step up their interest but will face increasing competition and it is understood Coventry City, who have previously expressed interest and aware of Rotherham’s valuation, are preparing to launch a sizeable bid. They have had a previous cash plus player offer rejected.
Meanwhile, the club rubbished reports Le Fondre has submitted a transfer request.
“Adam has never put in a transfer request, written or verbal, and has acted in a very professional manner throughout,” said Chief Operating Officer Paul Douglas. “No one should get the impression Adam has done anything that may, in any way, damage the special place he has in the fans’ affections here.”
