Rotherham United have signed Spurs teenager Grant Ward on loan.
The 19-year-old central midfielder has made a big impression while training with the Millers in pre-season and has scored two long-range goals in the club’s two friendlies so far.
He capped a fine display against Parkgate FC last Wednesday with a spectacular strike and was just as good at Stocksbridge Park Steels at the weekend when he smacked in a first-half thunderbolt.
The Star understands that the length of the deal is six months.
Ward ended last season on loan at Coventry City and sources in the Midlands say he was a major factor in the club securing their League One status.
He has pace, strength and athleticism, along with a good touch and vision.
Ward, who hasn’t featured at senior level at White Hart Lane, is likely to have his third Rotherham outing in tomorrow’s match at Alfreton Town.
