ROTHERHAM United manager Andy Scott has revealed that he feared Ben Pringle could fall by the wayside and has now thanked him for perservering and getting into the side.

Pringle, whose last first team appearance had been in early October with virtually nothing seen of him since, returned last Saturday with a fine display at Barnet and he followed that up with another prominent performance on Tuesday against Crewe.

“He expected to come here and play, with a mentality that that’s how it was going to work but it hasn’t and it was a kick in the teeth,” said Scott.

“It has taken a while for him to get over the disappointment that he wasn’t going to be in the side but he is relatively young in terms of experience, he’s had a lot to deal with as a young man and things had to be explained.”
