'Alf' and boss clash over substitution

ADAM Le Fondre's reaction to being substituted and manager Ronnie Moore's admonishment of the club's leading scorer were major talking points to after Rotherham United's 1-0 defeat at second-placed Wycombe Wanderers.

Le Fondre was taken off with eight minutes to go and walked off shaking his head slightly and then grabbed a tracksuit top and marched away, clearly angry, to the corner of the dug out before plonking himself down in the end seat.

"He wasn't happy but I don't expect him to come off and show disrespect to players and to the decision I've made," said Moore.

"Nobody has a divine right to stay on. We were chasing a goal but the way he was playing, he wasn't going to score. I put on Tom Pope for a big more height, strength and a bit more willingness."

Rotherham go to Stevenage tomorrow without midfielder Jason Taylor who was sent off at the end of stoppage time and is set to get a three-match ban.
