APART from the Millers’ match last night there’s not been much football around with the recent cold snap.

However, Wednesday’s FA Cup replay with Blackpool on Tuesday was one match to beat the weather.

And there was no complaints from Artful D on thestar.co.uk about the way the Owls were knocked out of the competition: “Three quality goals. No argument from me. Good performances from Sedgwick, Morrison and Lines but shocking performances from Palmer (who couldn’t trap a sandbag) and Otsemobor (who is this person and what is he doing in my beloved team?). Lowe played okay but looks lost in front of goal at times.”

Blades fan SWFCfansareinaworldoftheirown had a word to say about the attendance at Hillsborough: “Fair play, Wednesday were always going to struggle and do still have a promotion charge which they are having good go at. However, every Wednesday fan must be posting very red faced today due to the crowd (!) last night. You can say it was cold and it was on telly. I don’t buy it. It was 10 quid, you should have been there.”

s18owl put the result into context: “Basically we went out to win the first game in Blackpool and we were undone by the ref (again!).”
