SHEFFIELD FC slipped to a first away defeat in seven with a 4-1 reversal at promotion rivals Ilkeston FC last night.
Ilkeston made the breakthrough on 10 minutes, former Spurs midfielder Darren Caskey delivered a perfect free-kick for Gary Ricketts to strike home on the half volley.
Sheffield restored parity on 25 minutes when Steve Woolley curled a wonderful 20-yard free-kick in.
However, Ilkeston regained the lead a minute later with a stunning 30-yard effort from Tom Reid.
The hosts put Sheffield under intense pressure in the second half winning a series of corners and Reid made it three on 66 minutes.
Club never looked like reducing the deficit and it came as no surprise when Ilkeston added a fourth in the final minute with Reid completing his hat-trick.
