A GOAL six minutes from time saw Hallam extend their unbeaten run to nine games with a 1-0 win over promotion chasing Albion Sports at Sandygate Road.

The Countrymen should have taken the lead inside the first minute. James Cook burst down the right to put over a cross that Danny Deakin from close range chested home only for the assistant referee to fail to spot that the ball had crossed the line.

Albion could have gone ahead just before the break with Adam Jones heading wide unmarked then goalkeeper Xavier Parisi on his debut made a fine save to deny Daniel Facey.

With time running out, Ben Kistell’s low drive was tipped round the post and from the resulting Wilshire corner Jonathan Wragg out jumped the defence to score with a looping header. Wiltshire should have added a second on 88 minutes but headed over after Morris’s effort had been blocked.

Parkgate beat Armthorpe Welfare 2-1 to make it six home wins on the spin in league and cup. Maltby Main eased to a fourth win in the last six beating Nostell MW 3-0 at Muglet Lane.

Dinnington Town came from behind to beat Askern Villa 3-1 at Phoenix Park.

Worsbrough Bridge Athletic took the run unbeaten home record to 14 games following a 2-2 stalemate with Bottesford Town, while goals from Jamie Green, Lee Holmes and Matt Thorpe saw Worksop Parramore eased to a 3-0 home win over Thackley

Retford United lost 4-2 at promotion chasing Bridlington Town. Division One leaders Athersley Recreation suffered a shock 3-2 defeat at Appleby Frodingham, while Rossington Main were beaten 1-0 at home by Louth Town.
