Sheffield FC Ladies are the toast of the city after a stunning 6-2 victory over Cardiff City Ladies saw them claim the prestigious FA Women’s Premier League Cup.

Captain fantastic Carla Ward hit a sensational hat-trick in the rout and went on to lift the trophy at the Pirelli Stadium, Burton.

Ward put Club in front, knocking in the rebound after initially missing her penalty.

Sheffield weathered a storm then doubled the lead, again through Ward before Beth Lloyd pulled one back for Cardiff.

From then on though, the FAWPL Northern Division title winners went on the rampage in a superb team performance with Suzanna Davies, Jodie Michalska, Ward again for her hat-trick and Lisa Giampalma all finding the net before Lauren Townsend grabbed a consolation for Cardiff from the penalty spot.
