Sheffield FC hit back from 2-0 down to earn a 2-2 home draw with Loughborough Dynamo thanks to a much improved second half performance.

Club gifted the visitors two first half goals. Sloppy marking allowed Rob Norris to head in the opener before Yoan Benyahya’s poor back header allowed Norris to nip in for his second.

James Gregory reduced the arrears in the second half, running onto a pass to curl a beauty into the far corner. The equaliser on 73 minutes was even better. Conor Glavin slipped the ball to Temi Raheem who place a brilliant shot from 22 yards into the keepers top left corner (see Friday’s Grassroots for report and photos).

Stocksbridge Park Steels slipped up 3-2 at Carlton Town after Rory Coleman had twice put them back on level terms from the penalty spot.

Steels were looking for a first league double of the season following a 2-1 home win in August. Mansfield Town loanee Daniel Fletcher gave the hosts the lead with a fine run and finish on the stroke of half-time.

Stocksbridge were level four minutes after the break as Coleman clinical dispatched his first spot kick following a clumsy challenge. But just four minutes later Romella Nangle rifled Carlton 2-1 up.

Only two minutes later Coleman confidently stroked home his second penalty awarded for a handball.

Chris Hilton’s men thought they had gone in front only for Andy Fox to see his effort chalked off by a tight offside decision before Carlton grabbed the winner through substitute Kameron Campbell.

Shaw Lane Aquaforce became the first team to beat Division One South leaders Stafford Rangers this season as the Ducks ran out deserved 2-0 winners.

Gavin Allott hit the post with a fine earlystrike and went one better in the 20th minute to give the hosts the lead. Shaw Lane added a second four minutes into the second half with a superbly executed overhead kick from Adam Priestley. It was almost three but Allott hit the bar.

Frickley Athletic ended a run of three defeats as Chris Woods came off the bench to snatch a last gasp equaliser in a 1-1 draw at Skelmersdale United.

With time running out a cross was nodded back into the danger area for Wood to turn smartly and thump the ball home from six-yards.

A Danny Holland double wasn’t enough to prevent Matlock Town slipping to a first defeat in three with a 3-2 reversal at Halesowen Town.
