SHEFFIELD FC got their Evo-Stik Division One promotion push back on track after coming from behind to beat Northwich Victoria 2-1 at Dronfeld to end a run of three home games without a win.
Northwich went in front on 11 minutes through Connor Roberts. Club hit back quickly when four minutes later Steve Woolley’s driven ball into the box caused a scramble that finished with Vill Powell stabbing home from close range.
The visitors went close with a header just after the interval but it was Sheffield that edged in front midway through the half. Substitute James Knowles, who had only been on the field for a matter of minutes, played in Chris Adam to slide the ball past the keeper.
Stocksbridge Park Steels stay in the Premier Division relegation drop zone after a 4-2 defeat at fellow strugglers Frickley Athletic.
Frickley edged ahead on 25 minutes when from a free-kick central defender Jake Picton headed home.
Three minutes after the break, Gavin Allott put the home side 2-0 up. Picton fired in the third on 68 minutes before completing his hat-trick nine minutes later.
Stocksbridge rallied, pulling two goals back through a Adam Todd header and Danny South inside the last 10 minutes.
In the NCEL, Hallam went down to a last minute goal at Sandygate Road that saw Teversal snatch a 2-1 victory. Dave Cockerill gave the visitors a 38th minute lead.
The Countrymen hit back to level on 73 minutes through Scott Whittington before Greg Tobin grabbed the winner.
