Sheffield FC hope to make it two home wins in five days when they entertain Loughborough Dynamo tomorrow. But boss Ian Whitehorne is expecting a tough game despite the visitors having lost both their opening games.

He said: “They have been unlucky losing each game 3-2. Against Romulus, they were beaten by a wonder goal in the last minute. They will come here looking to put things right. They have signed some good players and have a new manager so will be keen to get their first win.”

Whitehorne was delighted to have bounced back from the defeat at Leek to beat Lincoln 4-0 on Tuesday. “We could have gone in at the break 3-2 down -they hit the woodwork three times. But we stamped our authority on the game and it could have been six or seven in the end.”

Vill Powell was injured in the first half and Whitehorne revealed the veteran will be out until next month: “Vill’s ankle is badly sprained. Mark Fereday will start Saturday after scoring a goal and doing well against Lincoln.”

Stocksbridge Park Steels face a difficult tie at Kings Lynn Town, following a 3-0 midweek defeat at Matlock Town. After starting the season with an opening day win over Droylsden, manager Darren Schofield was disappointed with the defeat in Derbyshire. He said: “We gave away soft goals by allowing crosses to come into the box. We didn’t put enough pressure on the ball then defended poorly in the area.”

Kings Lynn are fancied to be amongst the front runners and showed their credentials by thumping six past Rushall Olympic on Tuesday. “It will be a tough test” admitted Schofield. “They will be buoyant.” Steels will be without midfielder Matt Hamshaw (hamstring) and defender Brett Bowden-Lovell.

Saturday: Prem Div: Blyth Spartans v Worksop, Droylsden v Buxton, Frickley v Rushall, Kings Lynn v Stocksbridge, Matlock v Nantwich Town.
