Parkgate put in a brave performance before going down 4-2 defeat against in-form Scarborough Athletic before Green Lane’s biggest attendance of the season of 254.

Parkgate’s goals came from a 24th-minute penalty by Sam Smith - who thundered a second spot-kick against the bar - and Jamie Smith, who scored at the second attempt on 79 minutes to pull the Steelmen back to 3-2.

But a late fourth ensured the visitors extended their unbeaten league run to 20.

Staveley MW slipped to a seventh league defeat on the trot losing 2-0 at Retford United. Richard Medcalf and with Reece Thompson earned the Badgers a seventh win in eight.

It’s now just one win in ten for Dinnington Town after a 4-3 defeat against Hemsworth MW at Phoenix Park.

Greg Ramsden and Liam Cartledge saw Steve Toyne’s men go 2-1 up at one stage and 3-2 after 72 minutes through a Matt Starr own-goal only for Hemsworth to snatch the points with two goals inside the last 10 minutes.

Rossington Main eased their relegation fears with a 5-2 home win over fellow strugglers Yorkshire Amateur.

Ben Hunter opened the scoring on seven minutes with Brandon Fallon doubling the advantage just past the half hour mark after racing onto a ball over the defence. Then Nathan Fraser made it 3-0 from an acute angle on the stroke of half time.

The Ammers pulled one back two minutes after the break through Saimi Oyadaji but Jonathan Mirfin’s penalty and Hunter with his second of the game on 79 minutes made the points safe before Nathan Valentine reduced the arrears with a peach of a goal volleying home 22-yards.

Askern Villa tumbled to the bottom of Division One with a 4-0 defeat at AFC Emley. John Cyrus gave the hosts a 1-0 lead at the interval with Matt Brown’s own-goal increasing the advantage early in the second half before Liam Schofield and Ashley Flynn three minutes from time secured Emley’s fourth win on the spin.
