THERE was another disappointing home result for Sheffield FC as Curtis Woodhouse’s team could only manage a 2-2 draw against lowly Mickleover Sports.
Chris Adam gave Club an early lead with a cross-shot that dropped inside the back post. But Sports led 2-1 at the break with Storey heading in from a corner before Steadman waltzed through the defence to hammer home. Sheffield’s best chance of the second half came from a Jamie Hadfield header and just when it seemed Club would slip to a second defeat in four days, Powell scored with a scissor kick.
Frickley had to settle for a 1-1 home draw against Fylde after Gavin Allott’s penalty had given the Blues the lead.
In the NCEL, Parkgate thrashed Nostell MW 6-1 despite having Craig Fletcher sent off. Fletcher with a brace and Sam Smith had put the Steelmen 3-0 before Fletcher was shown a red six minutes before the break. Dave Cockerill, Martyn Lee and Smith added goals.
Armthorpe Welfare were beaten 3-2 at Bridlington Town where goals from Leo Fortune-West and Richard Smith had the Seasiders hanging on.
