A YOUNG policewoman wasn’t standing for any nonsense when football violence broke out at a local non-league game.
The officer stepped into the middle of a scuffle between Worksop Town fans and visiting FC United of Manchester supporters.
The home fans had started off the match stood in the same end as the Mancunians.
But things started to get ugly and the policewoman led stewards in moving the home fans to a different part of the ground.
The rest of the match, watched by 811 fans at Sandy Lane, continued without incident, although officers went into the club bar at half time to prevent problems and there was a skirmish between rival fans on Gateford Road afterwards.
Worksop won 4-1.
The Tigers donated proceeds from the game to the Sheffield Childrens Hospital.
