Play-off rivals hit for six by Club

SHEFFIELD FC beat play-off rivals Stamford 6-0 at Dronfield in the Evo-Stik Division One last night to open up a seven point cushion over the sixth-placed visitors.

Club were good value for their 2-0 lead through Matt Roney and Andy Gascoigne at half time. Gascoigne added the third with his second penalty with further goals from Ben Turner, Conor Higginson and Nathan Modest.

Hallam lost 3-1 at home against Worksop Parramore as the visitors climbed to second in the Baris NCEL Division One. Parramore led through Mark Hall but Sam Eckhardt levelled for Hallam. Gavin Allott restored the visitors lead on 68 minutes and wrapped up the points with his second late on.

Askern Villa lost 2-1 at home against Louth Town, while Parkgate went out of the league Cup beaten 2-1 at Winterton Rangers, Ashley Worsfold with the Steelmen’s equaliser on 33 minutes.
