Worksop Parramore caused a cup upset following a 3-1 win at Stocksbridge Park Steels in the Sheffield Senior Cup third round last night.
It was no more than the Northern Counties East League side deserved against a Stocksbridge side three divisions higher in the football pyramid.
Nathan Forbes-Swindells fired the visitors into a 17th minute lead against his former club with a low shot in off the post.
Will Senior headed Steels back on level terms on the stroke of half-time from a corner. But Danny Ingram restored Parramore’s lead on 61 minutes with a fine strike from the right side of the box into the top corner.
Five minutes later Callum Ward added the third rifling home from a long ball down the left side.
Holders Frickley Athletic squeezed past Shaw Lane Aquaforce winning 1-0 at Westfield Lane with Jake Picton hitting the winner seven minutes from time.
Parkgate edged past County Senior side Everest 2-1 at Green Lane.
Scott Whittington fired the Steelmen ahead on 12 minutes before an Adam Smith equaliser midway through the second half threatened a cup upset until Whittington popped up with his and Parkgate’s second two minutes from time.
