Non League clubs gearing up for their biggest day

In a few weeks time, football in the top flight, the Championship (plus a handful lower down) will take a break to accommodate international fixtures.

However, if you want to maintain your football fix, you can take in a game on your doorstep.

The now annual Non League Day takes place on September 6, with football fans urged to head down and support their local club. Now in its fourth year, the special date was designed to a platform for clubs to promote the importance of affordable volunteer led community football.

Our local games are:

Evo-Stik League - Division One South: Stocksbridge Park Steels v Carlton Town

Northern Counties East League - Premier Division: Armthorpe Welfare v Pickering Town; Handsworth Parramore v Nostell MW

FA Vase: Staveley MW v Athersley Recreation; Rossington Main v AFC Blackpool; Worsborough Bridge Athletic v Pontefract Collieries (Sunday September 7).
