SHEFIELD FC grabbed a late winner at Leek Town to make it three wins on the spin and make amends for a 2-0 defeat at Dronfield against them earlier this month.
Club were lucky to go in at the break on level terms in a half that the home side dominated. However, it was a different story in the second, when the players came out fired up. Andy Gascoigne put Jack Muldoon in on goal but the keeper charged the shot down. Richard Stirrup hit a shot over and then Muldoon was denied by a brilliant save after Warren Burrell, making his 50th appearance, had put him through.
With two minutes remaining, Matt Roney swung over a corner that was headed down to Muldoon, 15-yards, out to grab the winner.
In the NCEL, Hallam went down 2-1 at home against Division One leaders Athersley Recreation despite taking the lead.
Danny Deakin turned in a Conor Sellar’s cross at the near post to give the Countrymen a second minute lead. But Jason Bentley fired home eight minutes later before Kieran Scargill scored the winner.
Worsbrough Bridge Athletic beat Askern Villa 6-0 to extend their unbeaten league run to 16 games. All the goals coming in the first half with Chris White, Scott Whittington and Scott Turner all bagging a brace.
Parkgate went down 2-0 at home against Retford where Reece Thompson and Adam Scott goals on 73 and 74 minutes proved decisive. Dinnington Town were beaten 3-0 at Emley and Staveley went down by the same score at Nostell MW.
