Hallam grabbed a last minute equaliser to earn a 1-1 draw against fifth-placed Pontefract Collieries at Sandygate to make it four points from the last two outings.
Pontefract grabbed the lead eight minutes before the break when defender Julian Lawrence deflected a low cross into his own net. The Countrymen enjoyed the majority of possession. When full back Callum O’Kane rattled the bar with a blistering drive on 80 minutes, it looked like Hallam would come away empty-handed.
However, from a corner in the 89th minute Lawrence made up for his own goal, out-jumping the defence to head home the equaliser. And the hosts might had won it in stoppage time when Joe Highfield capitalised on some slack defending to nip past the keeper only to slide the ball wide of the post from a tight angle.
Parkgate stretched their run to just one defeat in seven following a 1-1 draw at Retford United. Matt Reay headed the Steelmen into a 13th minute lead which looked like being enough to take maximum points until Gavin Copper rescued a point for the home side with an equaliser two minutes from time.
Worsbrough Bridge Athletic came away 2-1 winners in the derby at promotion-chasing Shaw Lane Aquaforce to extend their unbeaten run to six games.
Ashley Flynn fired the hosts into a 20th minute lead but Lee Garside restored parity on the stroke of half-time, curling in a free-kick from the edge of the box. Adam Podmore turned in a Chris White cross from close range for what proved to be the winner on 65 minutes as Shaw Lane finished with 10-men after Danny Paterson was sent off for a second yellow card.
Senior Cup holders Frickley Athletic will defend their trophy in the final at Hillsborough on Tuesday, May 6 against Athersley Recreation, after the Blues beat Worksop Parramore 3-1 at Westfield Lane with goals from Luke Hinsley and a Gavin Allott double.
In the Evo-Stik League Matlock Town drew 1-1 at home with Rushall Olympic, Danny Hoyland equalising.
