WORKSOP Town have parted company with manager Simon Clark and his assistant Dave Frecklington following the 3-2 defeat at Blyth Spartans on Saturday, which all but ended the Tigers play-off hopes.
The due offered their resignations after discussions with Chairman Jason Clark, who hails from Chesterfield, over the weekend and were said to have been “reluctantly accepted”. Clark leaves with Worksop 11th in the Evo-Stik Premier Division and 12-points adrift of the play-off places.
Clark stated: “I have reluctantly accepted their resignations, as we need to start planning for next season, when the club will look to a more sustainable approach, blending the strengths of the youth set up with experience.”
It is not yet known who will be in charge of team affairs for tonight’s game at Frickley.
