Football: Cup win gives Village reason for double joy

Two goals from Josh Coulson ensured champions Stannington Village clinched a League and Cup double with a 2-1 win over Ecclesfield Players Lounge in the Blades Super Draw League’s Macron Cup Final at Bramall Lane.

Coulson struck just before half-time with an angled effort and hit a superb 25 yarder for the winner in the 102nd minute. Gavin Hunter had earned Ecclesfield extra-time with his 70th minute equaliser.

They deserved the win but Ecclesfield almost forced penalties, Keiron Webb’s late effort brilliantly tipped onto the bar by Nathan Ryan.
