Hallam picked up their first home league win of the season at the fifth time of asking after coming from behind to beat Rossington Main 2-1.
The visitors made a bright start but Hallam created the better chances.
In the 10th minute Danny Booth put a free header straight at Lee Appleby and the Rossington goalkeeper had to be at his best seven minutes later to push Adam Carter’s effort round the post.
Appleby was again in action making a superb block just past the half hour mark from Deakin’s well-struck shot.
The visitors’ only real chance of the half came two minutes from the break when Adam Wisdom had clear sight of goal only to scuff his effort.
Wisdom did better at the start of the second half forcing Andy Coulson into a fine save.
But Hallam again went close when Ben Kistell put his effort wide as Appleby raced off his line.
The deadlock was broken however on 63 minutes but it was the visitors who took the lead when Wisdom glanced home a back header from Niall Doyle’s free-kick.
The lead was short-lived as Hallam hit back to equalise three minutes later as Kistell struck a tremendous 18-yard volley into the top corner after Scott Whittington had cushioned a header into his path.
Danny Taylor fizzed a shot just wide of the far post on 69 minute as Hallam went looking for the winner.
And they didn’t have long to wait when just three minutes later Whittington beat the offside trap on the left before playing the ball across the area for Carter to have the easiest of tap-ins.
Askern Villa beat Athersley Recreation 3-1 to end the Division One leaders’ seven match unbeaten away record.
Mel Cotton gave the home side a 23rd minute lead and although Jason Bentley equalised two minutes after the break, Mike Braithwaite quickly restored the home side’s lead with Tony Hattersley sealing the points on 89 minutes.
Worsbrough Bridge Athletic drew 2-2 at Yorkshire Amateur. Chris White gave the Briggers a 14th minute lead but the Ammers hit back to lead 2-1 on 64 minutes. However, Lee Garside rescued a point in stoppage time after latching onto a long clearance.
AFC Emley won 3-2 at Bottesford Town after twice coming from behind before Paul Sykes, on his debut, bagged the winner in time added on.
Dinnington Town slipped up 2-1 at Shirebrook Town.
Promotion-chasing Worksop Parramore were beaten 2-0 at home by Pickering Town where Liam Salt hit both goals, pouncing at the end of each half.
Russ Eagle got his third stint as Parkgate manager up and running with a 1-1 draw at Liversedge.
Matt Outram gave the Steelmen a fourth minute lead before Brain Cusworth had a goal controversially ruled out for offside. The hosts hit back to snatch a 34th minute equaliser.
Retford United won 2-0 at struggling Maltby Main with goals from Bobby Johnson then Adam Scott four minutes from time.
Staveley MW came out on top in a nine goal thriller at Inkersall Road beating Armthorpe Welfare 5-4.
Ben Leonard, Joe Thornton and Nathan Forbes-Swindells on his debut put the Miners 3-0 up on 51 minutes. But a fightback saw Armthorpe square it at 3-3 with goals from Callum Smith, Joe Lumsden and Paul Ashton only for Chris Youlden to restore the hosts lead.
The visitors again drew level through Reece Richard on 82 minutes only for Youlden to win it with a minute to spare.
