“No regrets” is the mantra in the Doncaster Rovers Belles dressing room as the club bid to finish what they have started.
Belles currently occupy the second promotion slot and have a six-point cushion over third-placed Yeovil Town.
They return to action this evening against Watford at the Keepmoat Stadium (6.30pm).
“Everything is still in our hands,” said boss Glen Harris in an open letter to fans.
“Our mantra for the second phase is “no regrets” - don’t regret not performing and giving it your best both in games and training and, although a cliché, it will be one game at a time.
“We now have nine cup finals.”
On England’s performance at the Women’s World Cup, Harris wrote: “They have certainly put women’s football on the map in this country and congratulations on their achievements from everyone at Doncaster Belles.
“So what of the future? Everyone appears to mention legacy; making the most now of the high profile coverage and quality performance of the team is now the responsibility of everyone involved in the women’s game, The FA and clubs alike.
“It means making the most of the commercial opportunities available, working even harder to get more people through the turnstiles and the players working even harder to continue to improve the product on the pitch.”
