Glen Harris expects to bolster his Doncaster Rovers Belles squad with at least one new addition ahead of the second half of the FAWSL season.
Belles, who currently occupy the second automatic promotion spot, re-start at home to Watford on July 11.
“Hopefully by the end of the week we’ll be able to announce a really exciting signing,” said Harris.
“She’s a versatile player and can cover a lot of different positions, which is a real positive for us.
“We’ve been looking at her for quite some time and it’s now just a case of dotting the i’s and crossing the t’s and finalising paperwork with the FA.”
Belles went into the mid-season break on the back of a vital win over promotion rivals Yeovil and, according to Harris, spirits were understandably high in the camp following their return to training last week.
“Everyone agreed it was great to finish on that high note against Yeovil,” said Harris.
“It would have been a long six weeks if we’d have lost that game and it probably would’ve been the worst time to lose.
“The win means everything is in our own hands now and it’s onwards and upwards for the second half of the season.
“It’s a bit like a second pre-season now. We need to make sure the players have got that match sharpness and we’ve got a couple of behind closed doors friendlies that will help with that.”
