Hallam remain top of Toolstation NCE League Division One despite dropping their first points of the season in a 1-1 draw at Penistone Church.

Veteran Veteran forward Andy Ring gave Penistone a 61st minute lead after Jack Dennison had made a great save to keep out Mark Battaglia’s stinging shot.

It looked all over for Hallam when Dennison was sent off for handling outside the area in the 70th minute leaving fullback Max Pemberton to take over in goal.

However, the ten-men grabbed an equaliser five minutes from time when Steve Brammer steered home from a tight angle.

Parkgate answered manager Steve Adams criticism after the FA Cup mauling at Division AFC Emley in the best possible way by maintaining their 100% league start defeating fancied Bridlington Town 2-1 at home.

Reece Wesley headed the hosts in front, ConnorHarman equalised after 63 minutes and Ollie Graham hit the 89th minute winner.

Handsworth Parramore stretched their unbeaten start to four games in league and cup with a 5-0 home win over Nostell MW with goals by Jon Froggatt 2, Kieran Wells, Gareth Griffith and Alex Rippon.

Worksop Town maintained their perfect league record with an emphatic 7-1 win at promoted Pontefract Collieries as Mark Shaw’s side climbed to second in the table. Kyle Jordan hit a hat-trick with Conor Sellars 2, substitute Jack Waddle, and Mitch Husbands.

Maltby Main won their derby with Armthorpe Welfare 5-2 with a hat-trick from veteran Brian Cusworth and a brace by Nicky Darker.

Stuart Preston scored twice in an Armthorpe rally.

Athersley Recreation scored three times inside the last five minutes through Josh More and a Dan Joynes brace to beat Liversedge 3-1 after the visitors had taken a first half lead.

Retford United picked up their first win of the season beating Thackley 3-1 away with goals from Adam Carter and a Adam Lee double. But Staveley MW went down 2-0 at home against Rainworth MW with both goals coming inside the last four minutes.

Dronfield Town returned to winning ways beating Selby Town 4-1 at home. Christian Savage (2), Sam Bebbington and Lewis Naylor with the goals before the visitors scored a late consolation as Town recorded a first win since the opening day of the season.

Marcel Chiamunga hit four goals in the space of 18 second half minutes as Rossington Main came from a goal behind to beat Hall Road Rangers 4-1.

Ashley Flynn took his season’s tally to 12 goals after scoring twice in AFC Emley’s 3-0 win at Lincoln Moorlands Railway with Jordan Townsend also on target.

Worsbrough Bridge Athletic slipped to a first away defeat of the season losing 2-0 at Botteford Town.
