Hallam gained a crucial three points last night in their quest to beat the drop, beating fellow strugglers Arnold Town 1-0 at Sandygate Road to end a run of 17 league games without win.
Simon Asquith tapped home from close range on 18 minutes after Gavin Hunter had chased down a long ball.
Arnold had former Nottingham forest striker Jason Lee making his debut and he almost brought the visitors level after the break but fired over the bar from close range.
However, the point was not enough to lift Hallam off the bottom with Dinnington Town drawing 1-1 against another of the relegation candidates Liversedge at Phoenix Park.
The visitors led through Adam Hill but Mike Trench levelled in the second half.
Worsbrough came from two-nil down at home against Rossington Main to force a 2-2 draw. Liam Charlton scored twice to put the visitors in control but Rob Ward pulled one back on 53 minutes with Liam McFadyen levelling from the penalty spot with three minutes to spare.
Sheffield FC and Parkgate booked their places in the semi-finals of the Sheffield Senior Cup.
Club beat Frickley Athletic 2-0 to complete a cup double over their neighbours after also dumping them out of the FA Cup 2-1 in a replay.
Sheffield broke the deadlock on 30 minutes when James Gregory rifled home with Chris Adam adding a second on the stroke of half time to put Club in control before Sam Barnsley wrapped up the tie with the third midway through the second half.
Green Lane Parkgate also progressed in the Senior Cup, overcoming Staveley Miners Welfare 3-1.
