Dinnington Town remain in deep trouble in the bottom two of the Koolsport Premier Division table after a 4-1 defeat at Maltby Main last night to leave Town without a win in 14 games.
Rob Branagan headed in at the near post to give the Miners a 10th minute lead but Dinnington’s hopes were lifted when Matt Arnault fired the visitors’ level just before the half hour mark.
However, Paul Lavender restored the hosts lead 10 minutes later with Scott Whittington hitting the third on 71 minutes. Oliver Warren added the fourth five minutes from time with a goal all of his own making as Maltby climbed to fourth in the table.
Staveley Miners Welfare extended their lead at the top of Division One to eight points after a 1-0 win at AFC Emley. Chris Fawcus hitting the decisive goal with 20 minutes remaining.
Handsworth’s home clash against Grimsby Borough was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.
