DONCASTER Rovers were knocked out of the third round of the FA Youth Cup after a 4-2 extra-time defeat to Middlesbrough at the Keepmoat Stadium last night.
A goal in each half of extra-time by Ryan Brobbel rewarded Boro's strong finish.
Rovers fell behind after just three minutes when Brobbel shot home from close range after getting on the end of a cross from the left.
Jarrett Rivers made it 2-0 on 63 minutes but Rovers hit back two minutes later when Bradley Grayson converted his own penalty.
Jordan Ball put Rovers, who played much better in the second half, level two minutes later when beating the Boro keeper at the near post after Stephen Hoyle and Bradshaw had combined in the build-up.
Bradshaw saved well from Brobbel in stoppage time to take the tie into extra-time.
