Hotel defeated as Parklands tighten grip at the top of Alliance

ATHLETICO Parklands strengthened their grip on top spot in the Doncaster Sunday Alliance League Premier Division following their 3-2 win at Rockingham Hotel (Daniel Hooper, Blake Freeman).

Second-placed Rhino’s lost 2-0 at Adam & Eve.

Bullcroft S & P climbed third on the back of a 6-0 win over ACS. Gareth Collinson bagged a brace for the winners with James Hendry, Kevin Hayes, Chris Harrison and Joe Fisher also netting.

Bottom club Armthorpe Coronation got off the mark with a 3-1 win over Social Bar thanks to goals by Darren Mundy (2) and Ian Sharp.

Bentley Top Club beat FC Dunscroft 4-2. Jordan Irwin and Luke Brownbridge shared out the visitor’s consolation goals.

Armthorpe Rovers missed out on the chance to move clear at the top of the Championship after going down 4-2 at home to third placed AFC Rovers.

Karl Blanchard was Rovers’ hat-trick hero with Stuart Gibbard also chipping in with a goal. Relegated Conisbrough Conyers beat visiting Stainforth 3-1. Chris Owen, Adam Deever and Dan Phillips shared out the Conisbrough goals with Chris Cork replying for the losers.

Toll Bar lost 1-0 at Eden Grove.

Hawthorn retained top spot in Division One with a 6-0 win at lowly Alverley Inn. Second-placed Stag Inn also had their shooting boots on when beating Sportsman Inter Stella 6-1. Adam Slater helped himself to two of the goals with Andy Sheldrake, Brett Nielsen, Karl Hope and Craig Slater also chipped in with goals.

Wheatley Hotel (Chris Wood, Andrew Burrows, Calum Russell) kept in touch with the top following their 3-2 win at Carcroft Village. Adwick Park Rovers were held to a 2-2 draw by Three Horseshoes United.

Tumbler beat visiting Askern Railway (Chris Stevens, Tom Bentley) 5-2.

HPK took over top spot in Division Two after beating Rosehill Press by the odd goal in five. Lee Parker, Michael Lee and Carl Hayes all netted for the home side with Jonathan Corrie grabbing both the Rosehill goals.

Edlington Top Club kept in touch with the top after beating Armthorpe Albion by the odd goal in three.

Brodsworth United, for whom Darren Bird (2), Dan Smith and Daniel Hulley netted, drew 4-4 with vesting Glad Old Boys - Greg Brice, Craig Wilmott, David Flowitt and Marvin Speight netting.

Goals by Sam Braun, Simon Robertshaw, Michael Wibberley and Andrew Welch secured Wadworth Sports a 4-2 win at Wadworth Sports (David Buck 2.)
