After the embarrassment of being beaten at home by the bottom side who had lost all FIFTEEN of their away games, Hallam have sacked manager Chris Sellars.
A committee meeting was held after Hallam’s 2-1 defeat by struggling Louth United and the outcome was that Sellars was removed as manager of the Northern Counties East League side.
It was his first full season in charge after he had replaced Julian Watts who left to join Shirebrook last year.
Hallam Chairman Chris Taylor said: “No one is more upset than I am at having to take this decision as I have supported Chris in his time as manager and hoped we had turned a corner.
“But this result and the players’ body language rang alarm bells. If we are going to make changes then now is the time to do it.”
He said there were no immediate plans to appoint anyone adding: “I thank Chris for his undoubted commitment to the club and, more importantly, to his players. He has been key in our youth development programme, I hope he remains in charge of his U18s.”
