Great Scott helps sink Albion in Cup clash

A FOUR-goal haul by Scott Henderson laid the foundations for Rossington United’s 6-1 Doncaster Sunday Alliance League’s First Group KO Cup third round win over Armthorpe Albion.

Mark Ridley and Karl Lang also chipped in with goals for the home side. Willaspoons had to settle for a consolation goal by Liam McCarthy when going down 4-1 at FC Dunscroft. John Howcroft scored both Park Social goals in their 5-2 defeat at Crown Hotel.

Stainforth booked their place in the next round after beating Campsall by the odd goal in five. Cordell Drobac and Peter Dawson both bagged a brace in Balby Academy of Sport’s 5-2 win at Rosehill Press. Mark Cooper also chipped in with a goal for the winners with Blake Wilson grabbing both Rosehill goals.

Leaders Athletico Tap Maker beat Bullcroft Sports & Pastimes by the odd goal in seven in one of only two Premier Division games. Danny Jarvis (2), Chris Scott and Daniel Read shared out the Tap Maker goals with Brendan Thompson, Kevin Hayes and Gareth Collinson replying for Bullcroft.

Bentley Top Club (Craig Aspinall) and Corner Pin (Jonathan Hardy) battled out a 1-1 draw. A Brett Lucas brace helped put Edlington Top Club on their way to a 4-1 Championship win at Carpenters Arms.
