THE latest chapter in one of English football’s most remarkable fairytales was written last night.
Former Stocksbridge Park Steels ace Jamie Vardy, who left Bracken Moor in 2010, has become Nigel Pearson’s third signing of the close season at Leicester City.
The striker scored 34 goals for Fleetwood Town this season.
Pearson, said: “There were a number of club’s vying to secure Jamie’s signature so it’s very pleasing that we’ve been able to bring him in.
“He’s built up an excellent reputation for himself and I have no doubt he will successfully make the step up to the Championship.”
Vardy joins former Sheffield United loanee Ritchie de Laet at the King Power Stadium.
Pearson added: “Jamie will definitely help to take us forward.”
The fee is undisclosed fee, but could be at least £1m.
