DANNY Haynes scored a brace - his first goals for his new Barnsley employers - to lead his side to a 2-0 win at Doncaster Rovers last night.
The 23-year-old Londoner, who signed at Oakwell just six days ago, conquered the Keepmoat Stadium with two telling finishes.
It was the fourth game on the bounce that Rovers have lost and the result leapfrogged the Reds three places over over their South Yorkshire neighbours into 13th.
Barnsley had won on their last two visits to Doncaster and last night’s victory was a boost to Mark Robins after his side failed to record a win in the previous three games.
Meanwhile in League Two, Chesterfield went six points clear at the top of the division after a 2-0 victory away to Gillingham. Striker Deane Smalley did the damage with a brace. But fourth-placed Rotherham United crashed 3-0 at Stevenage.
In the Premier Division, Manchester United won 3-2 at Blackpool.
