DONCASTER Rovers have announced that three new walkers have been added to the roster for IncaTrek 2011.
Original team members Wayne Thomas and Lee Butler have been forced to drop out of the expedition to Peru in June, with an extra place originally still available.
Supporters David Plant, Brian Butcher and Paul Mayfield - have now taken on the challenge and will join players Mark Wilson, James Coppinger, James O’Connor; sports scientist Ross Burbeary, performance analyst Paul Fernie, community participation manager Liam Scully and media manager Steve Uttley on the 11-day journey.
Said club spokesman Chris Mortley: “Paul runs the line as an assistant referee on a weekly basis so is no stranger to exerting himself physically and taking stick off players!”
Said David:“It’s fantastic to be involved in such a great campaign and such a huge project It’s going to be a challenge for the team, and a personal challenge for myself to gain the fitness in just nine-and-a-half weeks, It’s such a good cause to be doing it for.
