WELSH international David Cotterill registered his fourth goal of the campaign and his second in as many matches but Doncaster Rovers slipped to a 3-1 home defeat against Preston North End last night.
Cotterill equalised on the stroke of half-time to cancel out Jack King’s 33rd minute opener.
However, Preston claimed maximum points thanks to goals from Scott Laird and Stuart Beavon after the interval.
Rovers boss Dean Saunders handed Billy Paynter a start up front in place of Iain Hume. Former Barnsley forward Hume is on loan at the Keepmoat Stadium from the Lilywhites and as part of the agreement, was unable to face his parent club.
