DONCASTER Rovers will miss out on a visit to the Palace tomorrow.
The club’s Championship game against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park was postponed this afternoon.
The London club, who have had the pitch covered by a double layer of plastic sheeting all week, had rated the chances of the game going ahead in midweek as 50-50.
But with the weather deteriorating in the capital over the last 24 hours ,and a severe frost predicted for tonight, a Football League referee drafted in to prevent Rovers making a possible wasted journey, called the game off.
“They are having the worst of the weather down there at the moment and the temperature is expected to drop to minus six tonight and despite it expected to be a couple of degrees above freezing in the day tomorrow the referee didn’t think the pitch would be playable,” a said Rovers’ media manager Steve Uttley.
