DONCASTER ROVERS chairman John Ryan says the Council are dragging their feet over discussions to buy the Keepmoat Stadium.
Rovers are the stadium’s main tenant, which is owned by the council and run by Stadium Management Company - a specialist facility management firm.
Ryan said it would be in the interests of Doncaster council tax payers that Rovers took over the running of the venue either through ownership or via a long lease: “I don’t know how long it will take.
“It is owned by the council and things grind slowly through councils. The stadium is losing money. I’m sure the people of Doncaster would like us to have a look at it.”
Speaking on Radio Sheffield, Ryan also said the club have Premier League aspirations after appointing Dean Saunders as manager.
