Doncaster Rovers fans rose as one to hail a hero on Saturday.

James Coppinger turned out for Rovers for the 469nd time in their 2-0 win over Stalybridge Celtic in the FA Cup, surpassing Colin Douglas’ 22-year record.

Before the game, 34 year old Coppinger, who has been at Rovers for 12 years, was honoured with a special presentation and in the 26th minute of the match - his shirt number - the Keepmoat crowd stood in unison to applaud a truly dedicated player.
