DONCASTER Rovers used an excellent start to produce a convincing victory at Carlisle United.
Goals from captain Rob Jones after 14 minutes from a David Cotterill cross gave Rovers the lead and then Cotterill bagged a second on 18 minutes as he shot into the top left hand corner from outside the area.
Despite pressure from Rovers they couldn’t make it three before the break and they were made to pay midway through the second half.
And what a goal it was as David Symington struck home a 35 yard free kick after Tommy Spurr had been adjudged to have fouled Joe Garner on 66 minutes.
However, Rovers’ two goal cushion was soon restored. Another former Sheffield Wednesday defender, Tommy Spurr, heading home from a Cotterill cross.
